Abstract

This study explored how leadership, school culture, and academic management work together at Mayoyao National High School. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews with the school head and teachers, classroom observations, and review of school documents. Findings showed that when leadership places teaching and learning at the center while remaining open, approachable, and collaborative, it nurtures a culture of trust and shared responsibility. In turn, this positive school culture strengthens academic management practices such as curriculum alignment, instructional supervision, and monitoring of learner performance. The study highlights that effective school improvement does not rely on leadership, culture, or management alone, but on how these elements work together to support teachers and enhance student learning in a public secondary school context.
